Daniel Lagana Certifications: CrossFit Level 2 Trainer Dan Lagana has been a coach at Mount Vernon CrossFit since 2013. He first tried CrossFit in 2009. His first WOD? For time: 400m walking lunge. “No problem,” Dan said to himself, and off he went. The next morning, Dan could not walk, and thus began his CrossFit journey of self-improvement.  Dan began coaching in 2012 as volunteer at CrossFit Walter Reed and hasn’t stopped since. Dan is a Mount Vernon native and Army veteran.

Deirdre Orem Certifications: CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, CF Gymnastics, CF Endurance, CF Kettlebell, Adapted Athlete, USAW Level 1 Sick of her boring routine at the local rec center (cardio, free weights, abs, repeat), Deirdre tried CrossFit for the first time in 2011. She was hooked immediately – challenging new movements, a different workout every day and an amazing community of people to work out with. In 2013, Deirdre got certified to coach hoping to spread her excitement for all things fitness related to others. There is still nothing quite like the rush of hearing 3, 2, 1…GO! Helping people achieve their goals and inspiring a continued passion for health and fitness is what the MVCF community is all about.

Knute Adcock Certifications: CrossFit Level 2 Trainer Knute found Crossfit in 2011 after stumbling upon an Alabama gym calling itself a "box." Their focus on "constantly varied, functional movements at high intensity" was the simple fitness prescription destined to replace his previous (and as he says, boring) workout regime. As an Air Force pilot Knute brings a philosophy of self-discipline and compartmentalized focus to his instruction. And as a father of 3 from teenager to toddler, Knute has mastered the art of patient, situation-specific "coercion." He'll motivate you to reach your fitness potential, and promises his workouts will never be boring again.

Corey Garretson Certifications: CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, CF Judge, CF Scaling Corey fell into CrossFit in 2013 on a deployment, he found himself needing a change and wanting something different from the grind of running… lifting... the same routine. CrossFit blended the two in a way that kept his interest and amped up the intensity in his workouts. Once he started to see the effect he caught the fever and never looked back. Corey loves teaching; being both a Marine and a high school wrestling coach he developed a passion for motivating others and take pride in their accomplishments. Coaching provides him with the rare opportunity to guide others to their goals and fulfill his own at the same time.
